Tshaku [Banza] Tshikuna hails from Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo where he learned to honor his Baluba heritage as a traditional Mutuashi dance artist.

He has practiced his talent for dance as a choreographer for Congolese Kwassa Kwassa bands in the DRC, Zambia and Namibia.  He is also credited with envisioning the dance routines for Namibia's national cultural troupe Ndilimani. To share his love for dance with others he served as a Ndombolo and Kwassa Kwassa dance instructor for the College of the Arts in Namibia for the 10 years.

Tommy's choreography fuses traditional Baluba Katanga dance [Mutuashi] with the popular Kwassa Kwassa, Ndombolo, Rumba Congolaise, Soukous and Coupé-Décalé dance styles to create what he calls 'Mutuashi Melange'.
